Upcoming Event: Daytime Mini-Camping Experience - Sat. June 22nd
Looking for a fun family nature event catering to kids under 5? Curious to see how your kids enjoy several hours of outdoor time? Excited to connect with other families with young kids? Wanting to give your kids a camping-like experience without the logistics of actually sleeping over? Join us for a miniature daytime camping experience at Umstead State Park (Reedy Creek entrance) on Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00am until 2:00pm.
Location: Umstead State Park, Reedy Creek Entrance, Shelter #1
Dates: Saturday June 22nd, 9:00am-2:00pm
Cost: $7.50 per family (to cover shelter rental & supplies)
Activities:
*Forest scavenger hunt, nature art, explore tents, mud kitchen, guided hike
*BYO picnic lunch to eat together while listening to nature stories
*Campfire and marshmallows for roasting!
What you should bring:
*Water bottles
*Snack if needed
*Packed lunch
*Good walking shoes
*Clothes that can get dirty/wet, and perhaps a change of clothes in the car!
*Sunscreen/bugspray
*Roasting skewers (we will have disposables on hand, but for sustainability reasons if you have your own we ask that you bring them!)
